“Smokey” refers to the paint theme, not what comes out of the exhaust 🙂  This triple-numbers matching 1976 R90S is the last year BMW made this motorcycle.  Just under 5000 of these were built with improvements in the engine casing compared to previous years.  This bike came to us in March 2018 from Ontario with 65 773 original miles.  Newly refurbished seat.  A new battery, rebuilt petcocks, starter R&R and adjustments to the steering head bearings are all that was needed to make this an entertaining ride.
